Larry's Logical Number Systems
Base 10:
How did you learn to count?
Our base 10 numbering system has a fault.
(1) One through (9) nine are the first steps to learning how to count, after that in gets nuts.
(20) Twenty through (99) ninety nine is sort of logical, first digit and then the next are in line with the way we read, left to right.
(36) thirty six is understandable but how does eleven represent 11?
Fourteen sounds a little like a 4 but the order is wrong. 4 teen. I propose we change a few numbers.
After 9 should be (10) Onety, then Onety One etc. This makes much more sense. One is placed before each number as is the number twenty, thirty etc.
11 is onety one, 12 is onety two, 13 is onety three, 14 is onety four etc. Simple?
Everything is in order, much easier to understand and make teaching a child to count logical.
Sound it out, I think you will find it is the correct way to count in a base ten numbering system.
1 One
2 Two
3 Three
4 Four
5 Five
6 Six
7 Seven
8 Eight
9 Nine
10 Onety
11 Onety One
12 Onety Two
13 Onety Three
14 Onety Four
15 Onety Five
16 Onety Six
17 Onety Seven
18 Onety Eight
19 Onety Nine
20 Twenty
Thank you for counting with me!
